Etruscan Tomb Visit

Did you ever visit a tomb over 2,500 years old? I did just a few days ago. Spooky! I would swear I could see Urns where the deceased were kept inside the tomb. Many of these urns had the deceased sculpted in a reclining position reading their destiny and such things.

The region of Tuscany takes its name from the Etruscans. Etruscan society was different from most of the ancient civilizations, as well as contemporary ones, because they treated women as equals. Famous as traders their greatest period of prosperity was from the 8th to 6th Century B.C.. From the 4th Century B.C. onwards the history of the Etruscans was about their relationship with the growing power of Rome, with Rome eventually incorporating the Etruscans and finally granting Roman citizenship in 90 B.C..
